MLS Listing Photos
How did Redfin get these photos?
Redfin has agreements with several MLS systems across the US that provide listing and photo information on active listings.
My listing is no longer for sale, why are my photos still showing?
When a home is sold through the MLS, the photos are still archived in the MLS system. The feeds provided by the MLS systems will include these images unless hidden or removed from their end.
How is the photo order determined on the listing page?
The number of photos displayed on the listing may vary depending on the screen size you're using. You may see 3, 5, or 7 photos.
These photos are chosen automatically based on their position in the MLS photo order. The first photo is always included, and the others are pulled from set points throughout the full photo list.
Here's how the system chooses the photos:
• If 3 photos show: We use photo #1, plus the photos at about 1/4 and 3/4 of the full photo gallery
• If 5 photos show: We use photo #1, plus the photos at about 1/4, 2/5, 3/5, and 3/4
• If 7 photos show: We use photo #1, plus the photos at about 1/5, 1/4, 2/5, halfway, 3/5, and 3/4
Can I edit photos on my active sale listing?
Photos provided to us by the MLS cannot be edited through Redfin. To have images updated, you would need to contact the agent representing the listing or contact the MLS directly.
Can I remove the photos from my property page?
To have the photos removed from your home:
- Log into Redfin.com
- Hover over your name in the top right corner and click 'My Homes'
- Select the home you are wanting to remove the photos from (skip this step if you have 1 claimed home)
- Select 'Edit Photos'
- Check the box for 'Hide listing photos' (you may need to verify your ownership via our ownership verification tool before proceeding)
- Select 'Yes, Hide Photos'
- Click the red 'Save' button at the bottom-left of the screen
I selected "Hide Listing Photos," but the first image (hero shot) is still visible - Why?
When you choose 'Hide Listing Photos', the initial image remains visible (hero shot), as it typically provides a more accurate representation of the property than the Google Street View or Apple Maps Look Around images that substitute it. If you want to have the hero shot removed as well, please message Customer Support for further assistance.
The images Redfin removed are still showing on Google/Bing - Why?
Google and Bing pull information from the websites associated with the links for their searches. When a photo is removed from Redfin, it can take some time for Google/Bing to re-pull the information from the webpage and see that the photos have been removed.
Can I get a copy of my home photos?
Property photographs on Redfin are protected by copyright and cannot be distributed as they belong to the listing agent or photographer. Consequently, it is necessary to contact the previous listing agent to inquire whether they can provide these images.
Where is Redfin getting the 3D tour showing on my property?
We display 3D tours and a number of services, including the MLS and additional third-party data providers.
The 3D tour showing on my listing doesn't match what is in the MLS - Why?
If the listing is active and the 3D tour we are showing does not match the one uploaded by your agent, it is most likely coming to us from one of the third-party data sources directly. Please reach out to Customer Support to have the incorrect 3D tour/floor plan removed from the listing page.
Can Redfin remove the 3D tour from my property page?
If the 3D Matterport/Floor Plan is provided by the MLS and the listing is active, we cannot edit or remove it from the website. This is an action your listing agent would need to take through the MLS directly. If the listing is no longer up for sale, then reach out to Customer Support, and we can remove the previous listing information, including the 3D tour/floor plan.
Where did Redfin get the floor plan images?
Redfin receives floor plans from a number of sources, including the local MLS and additional third-party data sources.
Can Redfin remove the Floor Plan from my listing page?
We have the ability to remove the Floor Plan by your request. To have the Floor Plan removed, please contact Customer Support.

Google Street View Photos
What is a Google Street View photo?
Google Street View images are photos taken by camera-mounted vehicles owned by Google to map out walkable spaces.
Why is the photo on Redfin?
Redfin receives a direct feed from Google that provides the Street View images for us to display on property listings.
Why is Redfin showing the wrong home?
- Google does not have a picture of the correct home. In this situation, it will then use the closest image to the map coordinates of the property
- The coordinates for the home are incorrect and need to be updated. To take action, please email our Customer Support team
Why is Redfin showing the alley behind my home?
Sometimes, the Google Street View cars take pictures down alleys and side streets as well as main streets. If the coordinates are closer to the alley than the main street, then that is the image it will show. You can reach out to Customer Support for assistance.
Can Redfin update my Google Street View photo?
We are able to adjust the angle or the camera position of the photo, but cannot update the image if it is out of date.
Can the Google Street View be removed?
We do not have the ability to remove the Google Street View from Redfin. If you want the Street View removed as the owner, you can:
- Look up the street view on Google
- Select ‘Report a problem’ in the bottom-right corner and fill out the form provided.
Google should then be able to blur the image.
*Warning, cannot be undone once submitted
