What Are Tour Insights?
Redfin Agents see dozens of homes every week. We want you to be able to benefit from their collective insights, observations, and experiences. Redfin Tour Insights give you our agents' objective observations on every home we see.
How do I know a home has Tour Insights available?
To find a home that includes Tour Insights, just look for the gold star in the top right corner of any home icon on our search results map. (However, if you've already added a home to your Favorites or X-out list, those icons will override the Tour Insights gold star.)
How can I view the Tour Insights for a home?
When you see a home with a gold star on the search results map, click the photo of the home to be brought to the Listing Data Page. The Tour Insights section of the page can be found between the Schools and the Public Facts sections.
Do I need a Redfin account to view Tour Insights?
Due to MLS rules and requirements, we may need to ask you to register or sign in with a confirmed email address before you can view a home's Tour Insights. Once you sign in, you'll be able to view or receive Tour Insights for any home on Redfin.com! Additionally, a few MLSs will require that we email you the tour insight, this option will also require you to log into your Redfin account.
What type of information do Tour Insights provide?
It's simple: we promise to tell you the unvarnished truth about every home we see. No spin, no baloney, and no feel-good euphemisms. If a house looks like it's been colonized by rabid honey badgers, we won't say things like "rustic charm" or "a handyman's dream." We'll say something like, "Wow — I think I saw a family of rabid honey badgers." On the opposite side of the “honey badger,” if a home we see is a true gem, you will be one of the first to know!
You might even see different opinions from different Redfin Agents on the same home. Our agents will tell it like it is — even if they disagree with a colleague. If the same agent sees a home more than once, she might add new comments noting fresh observations or changes to the home since her last visit. We'll not try to talk you into or out of buying a home. Instead, we'll give you our honest impressions of every home we tour.
Can Tour Insights be hidden?
Yes! When you tour a home with a Redfin Agent, that agent will also make observations to be used later in Tour Insight comments about the home.
Of course, there may be times when, as the client on tour, you don't want the agent to post comments about a home. For instance, if you've decided to make an offer on a home, it would make sense that you don't want your agent posting comments about what a great find it is.
As a client on tour, you always have the right to ask your agent to suspend posting a comment about a home you've seen. You'll have 48 hours to make an offer or take other follow-up action on a home before your agent posts any comments on a home's listing. This should give you plenty of time to decide and start the offer process on a home you want.
